WHAT DIFFERENTIATES The Adirondack Corgi FROM OTHER BREEDERS LOCALLY?

First off, we take pride in our breeding program and the puppies we produce. Thousands upon thousands of dollars are invested into our dogs and their genetic health so that we can bring healthy puppies to the Upstate New York region. All our dogs are tested for over 255 genetic conditions including but certainly not limited to Degenerative Myelopathy, Exercise Induced Collapse and Von Willebrand's Disease Type 1. These are the biggest and most debilitating conditions known in the corgi breeds and unfortunately there still are many breeders who do not participate in genetic testing their dogs. We believe all dogs should be set up for the best future possible hence why we make sure to meticulously pair our dogs so that no puppy is born at risk for either of these conditions!

CAN WE CHOOSE A PUPPY IN PERSON?

This is a very common question I am asked at least once or twice per litter. What makes this so unfortunate of a question is the issue of me wanting to say "Yes!" when many times this question comes when a litter is very young. Puppies who have not received their 1st vaccines are at a greater risk of contracting illnesses brought onto the property from strangers. When we have a litter born here at The Adirondack Corgi, we do not allow anyone other than our immediate household to step foot onto the property. This is because anything that is tracked onto the property via the bottom of your shoes, or even your clothing is at risk for coming in contact with our nursing mothers, or even spreading to the other dogs in the household. This chain of infection typically always makes its way to the puppies and many germs can and will kill a puppy in the matter of days. We do not take these risks. Instead, we have absolutely no issues taking pictures, phone calls or even video chatting so that you may choose your puppy or meet the parents prior! When your puppy is picked up after 8 weeks, you are more than welcome to meet the parents then as well as your lil furry friend. 🤍
